About The Computer Connection
Bruce Kaffenberger - Founded The
Computer Connection in 1995 as an on-site computer services
and sales organization.
Bruce began his career in the computer
industry in 1982 as a salesman for southeast Louisiana with N-Sure Systems of Monroe,
Louisiana. N-Sure Systems marketed computers and software to
independent property and casualty insurance agents for the calculation of insurance premiums
for auto policies.
In 1983, Bruce was recruited by Office
Automation, Inc. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to create a new
sales division of personal computers and software. It was his
stint at Office Automation that Bruce conceived the idea of a
new style of computer store. In the fall of 1983, Bruce
co-founded Software Solutions with his father, Edward
Kaffenberger. Software Solutions was the predecessor of
today's computer superstore concept stores; offering hardware,
software, and accessories for all of the popular computer
systems of the day. Over the next 12 years, Software Solutions
established additional stores in Arkansas and Mississippi.
The experience of Bruce's prior computer
businesses enabled him to develop an alternative to retail
computer stores. The Computer Connection was created to
concentrate on face-to-face interaction with its clientele.
Bruce's personal experience with database programming also
added the opportunity to create and support customized
applications for groups and businesses.
